Venue: Loftus Road, London

South Africa (1) 2 (Nkosi 25, Modise 58)

Australia (2) 2 (Sterjovski 31, Kennedy 36)

Bafana Bafana came from a goal behind to force a two all draw with Australia in an international friendly played at Loftus Road, London on Tuesday night.

South Africa was the first to register their name on the score sheet when ex Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Siyabonga Nkosi back in the team after a long absence scored with a low shot inside the area following a cheeky back heel from England based striker Benni McCarthy.

However, Bafana Bafana allowed their opponents to claw their way back into the game when Mile Sterjovski scored with a volley beating an advancing Itumeleng Khune who had kept his place between the posts. The Australians taking advantage of Bafana Bafana dodgy defence scored their second on the night via a flying header from striker Joshua Kennedy.

Bafana Bafana came back in the second stanza smoking fire and they were duly rewarded when Teko Modise buried home a shot early following some neat work between Benni McCarthy and Bryce Moon.

The South Africans will now face the Super Eagles in the crucial 2010 African Cup of Nations/World Cup qualifier on the 6 September.

South Africa line up: Itumeleng Khune, Bryce Moon, Bradley Carnel, Aaron Mokoena, Nasief Morris, Khetho Sibaya, Teko Modise, Kagiso Dikgacoi (Lance Davids 78), Siyabonga Nkosi (Sibusiso Zuma 65), Benni McCarthy (Lefa Tsutsulupa 73), Siphiwe Tshabalala (Surprise Moriri 57)
