Lucky Baloyi will start against Volcan Club de Moroni this afternoon. He replaces Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who was left out of the match day squad due to a minor injury.

Bernard Parker is another starter against the Comoros side in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

He comes in for George Lebese, who is still recovering from a niggling groin injury.

“We play each game to win and this one will not be treated any differently,” Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela said ahead of the Volcan de Moroni clash at the Stade de Moroni in the Comoros.

The game will be played on AstroTurf, instead of the normal grass pitches that soccer matches are usually played on in South Africa. Otherwise, it’s soaring hot and humid at the stadium.

“The weather condition is looking good under the circumstances,” mentioned Komphela, noting that there was a bit of rain on Saturday, which brought the temperatures a bit down. “It is hot here. At least it rained yesterday, which also helped to cool off the AstroTurf pitch.”

Today’s Valentine Day’s kick-off is at 14:00. There won’t be a live broadcast of the match.

“We are going for a win,” coach Komphela made Amakhosi’s intentions clear. “If we can’t win, we will settle for a draw, but we do not plan for a goalless draw. It must be a win or something like a one-all or two-all draw, as we have come here to at least get an away goal.”

This preliminary round of the CAF Champions League is played over two legs. The second leg is scheduled to take place in South Africa at the Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium. The date is set for Saturday, 27 February.
