Midfielder Lucky Baloyi has returned to training after he had injured his knee during the Botswana Challenge back on the 16th of November 2013. The Amakhosi were playing against Mochudi Centre Chiefs SC of Botswana at the National Stadium, in Botswana.
“I don’t remember how the injury came about. I just woke up in hospital with a big cut on my knee. I was told later that I was pushed and fell on the synthetic track surfacing. I am recovering from the injury but I am not yet at that level of playing in a competitive match. I am still doing some extra workouts so that I can matchup with the other guys so that I can be available for the upcoming games. We have lots of games coming up. We have the league and the Nedbank Cup to defend and we are also playing in the CAF games,” said Sheriff as Baloyi is affectionately known in the soccer cycles.
“So far I am ok but I am not in a hurry. I am doing extra work with the physical trainer so that I can get ready when the Team needs me I must be on the same level with my teammates. I don’t want to disappoint when I get a chance to play. This was my first serious injury. I missed about six games in the process of recovering,” said Sheriff in high spirits.
The 22 year old ‘Sheriff’ was the recipient of the Players’ Player of the Year at Chiefs in 2011/12. ‘Sheriff’ revealed tokaizerchiefs.com that he spent his festive break back home in Mokopane, Limpopo where he hosted a Top-16 soccer tournament as part of giving back to his community.
