He travelled with the team to the Western Cape for their camp but after a visit to a pulmonologist on the 10th January, he was advised to rest and was asked to come back to see him on the 14th January. After the second visit he was told to return home and get further rest. The former Bafana Bafana captain since his return to Johannesburg on Tuesday, has still not been responding to medication being administered to him and as a precautionary measure, was checked into hospital mid morning on Friday.
The Kaizer Chiefs medical team who are all currently in Stellenbosch, are communicating with doctors in Johannesburg and will make more information available on the player's condition as they receive it.
