Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic paid a glowing tribute to goalkeeper, Arthur Bartman following his heroics that inspired the Glamour Boys to a 1-0 victory against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday afternoon.

Bartman almost single handedly won the game for Chiefs denying Sundowns with stupendous saves; “Credit should go to Arthur Bartman. He was superb for us,” said the Serbian born Coach.

“The defence was tight, everyone gave their best but Arthur was outstanding. He pulled double saves to restore our win.

“Bartman is an example to other young goalkeepers. He comes to training and still works hard like anyone in the team despite being 39 years of age. His attitude as a professional is first class and should be an inspiration for aspiring professionals in sport.

VV also paid tribute to goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker; “Credit should also go to our Goalkeeper Coach for the good work he has done not only with Arthur Bartman but will all the goalkeepers in the team.

Bartman is in his second spell at the Club having joined the Glamour Boys back in 1998/1999 season. He did not have a successful spell then as he left in 2000. He rejoined the Club in August 2009 and was at his best as he helped Chiefs win Telkom Knockout in 2009/2010 season and he was deservedly voted as a Player of the Tournament.
