Stuart Baxter said that he was delighted with Lincoln Zvasiya’s performance in the Nedbank Cup game against Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday.
‘Harare’ as the defender is affectionately known to kaizerchiefs.com played a game of his life as he inspired the Glamour Boys to a first semifinal spot in the competition since 2005/2006 season.
Playing alongside Tefu Mashamaite, Zvasiya was solid at the back and a threat going forward and it was his header that led to the Glamour Boys win.
“I remember speaking to the players at one of our meetings prior to the game; I told them that the most important players now are the players that are not playing, with all the injuries and travelling that we have been doing, we might have to call on one of them to give a big performance of Saturday evening against Celtic.
“Zvasiya came out and did very well for us. It has been difficult breaking into the starting line-up but all my players know that I believe in them. I am happy for him (Lincoln Zvasiya).
“He has been very patient and he gave a sterling performance together will all the players that played and those that did not get a chance to play.
The soft spoken defender in return thanked the Head Coach Stuart Baxter; “The Coach and the rest of the Technical Team have been unbelievable to us and we go to the pitch to fight for him and the badge on our jerseys.
“I will continue to work hard at training and grab the opportunity presented to me. I am still honoured to be playing for such a great Club and it is my dream to win something with the Club. We will not rest up until this happens,” added Zvasiya.
