Head Coach, Stuart Baxter said that he is pleased by the way the players have responded to preseason camp which was held in Potchefstroom from 28 June to 17 July 2012.

The English born mentor was addressing the media at the Premier Soccer League HQ in Johannesburg ahead of the Gauteng Sports Challenge taking place at Lucas ‘Masterpieces’ Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday, 21 July 2012.

The Glamour Boys will take on Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows in what promises to be a thrilling clash. Kick off for the game is at 12:15. The first game will be between Bidvest Wits against SuperSport United at 10:00 and the final takes place at 17:15.

Baxter commented; “The last few weeks have been good and I am pleased in the manner that the players have responded to training. It is pleasing to see how hard the guys have been working. We had a game on Wednesday morning and the guys did very well.”

“The game this weekend is further going to give us an idea to see how far we have gone and which areas need attention.”

“We are pleased to be facing great opposition in Moroka Swallows this coming weekend and I would like to thank the Gauteng Provincial government for the invitation to participate in this tournament.”

Baxter insisted that the Gauteng Sports Challenge was about preparation; “We have been training for the past couple of weeks and it is not a case of us going all out for a win. This is part of preparation and getting information on the players.”

Meanwhile tickets for the game are still on sale at Computicket nationwide and at Shoprite/Checkers stores in Atteridgeville only. The tickets are selling for R50 adults and R20 for juveniles.
