It was feared that Bhasera would miss the game as he injured himself during Chiefs league match against Free State Stars on Sunday, he came through a Thursday evening training session unscathed and was then given the all clear to feature in the game.
Quartey option
Jonathan Quartey will make his second appearance of 2008 not in his usual favoured position in the centre of defence; instead he will take the holding midfield role as Tinashe Nengomasha is suspended for the match. Quartey will have his work cut out against the Urban Warriors as he will have to contend with the tough Nigerian Eyong Enoh, and it waits to be seen if the Ghanaian will get the better of his West African rival.
Striking movement
Given the impact he had when scoring soon after entering the field as a substitute on Sunday against Free State Stars, Mabhudi Khenyeza has been rewarded with a place in the starting eleven in place of Kaizer Motaung Junior.
There is also space on the substitute’s bench for Derrick Spencer and Ditheko Mototo, while David Obua has been sacrificed for Mototo and with Nengomasha missing Spencer moves in amongst the substitutes. Shaun Bartlett will captain The Amakhosi in their Nedbank Cup opener and will be hoping to give Chiefs the perfect start to their Nedbank Cup campaign.
