Coach Ernst Middendorp will make two changes to the line-up for this evening’s match against Maritzburg United compared to the team that played the last game. Khama Billiat, who came on in the second half against Royal Eagles in the Nedbank Cup after a two months long injury lay-off, will replace Kearyn Baccus. Another notable change is the return of the Daniel Akpeyi who was replaced by Itumeleng Khune last weekend in the goalkeeping department.
The rest of the team that helped Chiefs qualify for the round of 16 in the Nedbank Cup will start against Maritzburg United in Amakhosi’s 20th Absa Premiership match of the season.
Akpeyi will be between the goalposts.
Amakhosi’s defence remains unchanged with Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya playing on the left, Mulomowandau Mathoho and Daniel Cardoso as central defenders, and Reeve Frosler operating on the right.
The captain’s armband will be worn by Willard Katsande who will hold the midfield. He is joined by last weekend’s Man of the Match, George Maluleka. Attacking midfielders are Lebogang Manyama and Billiat.
The reliable attack of Leonardo Castro and Samir Nurković will be expected to give Maritzburg defenders a tough time.
This evening’s referee is Eugene Mdluli. His assistants are Mokoena Khoabane and Thabang Matlhong. The fourth official is Akhona Makalima.
The Absa Premiership match between Amakhosi and the Team of Choice will kick off at 18:00 at FNB Stadium.
