Bizzah Dlamini who was one of the hundreds of mourners at the funeral said the country has lost a ‘son’ in Moran Khulu. It was Michael Dlamini who discovered Samora Khulu in 1980.
“Kaizer Chiefs had great players but Samora was special” said the former Kaizer Chiefs coach.
“He was playing for Ntshezi High when I spotted him for African Wanderers. He performed miracles for us and I remember telling him, “from here, you go to Chiefs”. I remember the game we played against Hellenic, a ball came to me, I controlled it nicely with my chest and when I was about to hit a volley...Samora came, booom! This was before the ball even landed on the ground. I jokingly asked him, “Now?” He replied, “You were taking too much time Bra Bizzah” he was such a great player. Samora would never miss the target. He was very accurate” he said.
Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com from Durban Bizzah said the man who used to score spectacular goals at Ellis Park was at his best again following the game against Hellenic, this time African Wanderers were facing Kaizer Chiefs at the venue.
“Peter B’lack was clearing a ball and Samora Khulu was watching it...he hit it first time before it could take a bounce. That goal was like a lightening strike. He later joined Chiefs and proved us right as he became of the Club’s best strikers ever” he adds.
