Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela decided to start with Ivan Bukenya in the centre of defence, partnering Erick Mathoho. Ivan was brought into the team to defend Nathan Paulse, who is strong in the air.
On Wednesday, Lorenzo Gordinho partnered Mathoho at the centre-back position. The young defender did well, but he’s not in the squad facing Ajax Cape Town in an Absa Premiership fixture at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening (kick-off is at 20:15).
Camaldine Abraw is the striker up-front again, as he was in the 1-1 draw against Tuks on Wednesday evening. Siphelele Mthembu who started in last Saturday’s MTN8 final loss against the Urban Warriors is on the bench as he was in the match against the University of Pretoria.
George Lebese also starts on the bench, due to a knock he received in the Tuks game. Lebese is replaced by Edward Manqele, making his debut in the starting line-up since joining Amakhosi.
Ajax lost 3-2 to Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership game on Wednesday.
