Capitalise now - Nhleko

Amakhosi striker Nkhosinathi Nhleko has made a rallying call to his teammates to win as many games as they can in the early stages of the campaign as he believes that by accumulating points in the first round it will make things easier for them during the run in towards the end of the season.

“Let us capitalize now, by winning games and picking up points” Nhleko advised before explaining “we have taken seven points out of a possible nine from our opening three games, which is a good points to games ratio and we need to keep that up.”

The Amakhosi hit man would like to ensure that Chiefs are in the driving seat in the league once they have completed their first fifteen games, “we have to put ourselves in a comfortable situation so that by the time we begin playing the second round of fixtures, we are in a good position on the league table and if we do that now rather than later on in the league we can just build on that and there will not be much pressure on us.”

According to Nhleko, part of the plan towards placing Chiefs in a strong position to contend for honours would be for them to win their next league encounter against Platinum Stars this Saturday evening.

“A win against Stars is imperative; I know that they are an improving team and we have to be prepared to fight and ensure we win every game. Our last couple of league performances have been good but like I said we need to capitalise while the season is still in its infancy and surge forward.”

With Chiefs having been inactive since the 26th September, this weekend’s clash with Stars will be Chiefs first competitive outing in three weeks, Nhleko says Chiefs have had time to prepare over these weeks for next week which will see them play three games.

As he said “there is a long way to go in the season still but it gets more tricky as the season goes on for the mere fact that games come thick and fast next week we have three games, two in the league and one in the cup.

Should we manage to go through these kinds of weeks by winning all of our games, it places us in a strong position going forward. When you win games you feel good, motivated and confident. Victory in these games against Stars, Swallows and Amazulu will do just that for us.”
