Captain Khune poured cold water on any thought of a walk in the park when the North West based Platinum Stars visit the City of Gold on Sunday, 24th of August 2014.

Stars, the defending champions will be coming to our home, the FNB Stadium facing an uphill battle to turn around 0 - 2 1st Leg deficit on aggregate score.

Chiefs go into this Sunday's match with an advantage after taking the lead in the 1st leg last Saturday, August 16 at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace. Maluleka was the 1st leg hero when he scored a brace scored in the 51' and 90’ minute in Rustenburg, much to the delight of the expectant Amakhosi faithful.

Captain Khune, the reigning 2013/14 Absa Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season attributed his team's current form to nothing but team work. "It is not about our individual success. Yes every one brings individual performances to the party but an individual brilliance will fall to nothing if the team loses," said Khune after going through extra training on Friday afternoon.

About taking a 2 - 0 lead to Sunday's battlefield,

"Obviously we need to approach the game with a winning mentality. We are professionals enough to not think we have won. We have to stay switched on and have a strong mentally," said the Skipper.

Named in the Bafana squad by the new Coach Mashaba earlier Friday, a highly charged Khune praised his teammates for their hard work, he said;

"It's a good confidence booster to start the season with winning. Credit to all the members of the team. If you look at our play, we defend as a team and attack as a team. It shows we are doing something right," said Khune.

What makes Chiefs team tick?

"We have a good structure, and under Coach Baxter, we have improved our work ethic. We are working on one game at a time. We are looking forward to the next game and this time we will be hosting Platinum Stars on Sunday. The Coach is working wonders on our motivation," said Khune.

Khune further said, "We are scoring good goals and defending well as a unit. We want to continue in our winning ways and reach the cup final."

Tickets for the much awaited match are still available for this weekend’s MTN8 semifinal return leg fixtures. The ticket prices are as follows: R80 for the grand stand (Main stand – West Stand) and R40 for the rest of the stadium. Tickets are on sale at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers countrywide.

We urge the Amakhosi faithful to come to support the team at the stadium.
