The supporters have made their voices heard loud and clear. The groundbreaking Carling Black Label Cup has demonstrated once more to be the fan favourite pre-season competition pitting the most popular and supported teams, arch-rivals, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

The competition gives the fans an opportunity through a voting process to select the starting line-up of their choice. The voting process happens during the off season where teams go through some changes and unfortunately some players incur injuries and have to be replaced.

The Cup is going to its fourth edition and the Glamour Boys will walk through the tunnel of the ‘Calabash’, the FNB Stadium as the defending champions after winning the tussle by a solitary goal scored by Lehlohonolo Majoro who is now a ‘Sea Robber’ after he jumped ship during the mid-season of 2013/14 transfer window period. The players that will miss out through injury are the reigning Absa Premiership Top Goal Scorer, Bernard Parker and midfield maestro Siphiwe Tshabalala.

The eleven of the consumer choices comprise of the Team Captain Itumeleng Khune, the solid defense of Pa Gaxa, Tsepo Masilela, Erick Mathoho and Tefu Mashamaite. The heart of the midfield is a combination of the versatility and hard tackling duo of the reigning Kaizer Chiefs Footballer of the Season, Willard Katsande and the agility of Reneilwe Letsholanyane. The attacking midfield will be manned by the two Georges, the flair of George Lebese and the industrious George Maluleka.

The attack comprise of the deadly strike force of the couple of Katlego Mphela and ‘king goals’ Kingston Nkhatha.

The Team will be led on the day by the Champion Coach Tebogo Molekoa who emerged as the Coach after going through a rigorous selection process.

The much awaited Derby match is sold out. Kickoff is at 15:30 and the fans are urged to arrive early to be part of the entertainment and activities line-up in and around the stadium and to avoid road gridlocks. More on the logistics, trains and road closures will be shared through all the Kaizer Chiefs media platforms leading to the crunch time on Saturday, the 26th of July 2014.
