Kaizer Chiefs host Richards Bay United in their final home game of 2023 at FNB Stadium this afternoon.

The coach will want to give Kaizer Chiefs supporters a Christmas gift by winning the game and making it three wins in a row.

Both teams play their final match of the first round, which is the 15th DStv Premiership of the current 2023/24 season.

In the 14 games to date, Chiefs have managed to collect 20 points and are 6th on the log. Richards Bay are in 15th spot with 10 points in the bag.

Chiefs go into the match high on confidence after winning their last two matches and gaining six points. Richards Bay are also hungry for points after losing their last game and want to move away from the relegation zone.

The home team has had Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Zitha Kwinika added to the injury list that already contains George Matlou, Keagan Dolly and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe.

The good news, though, is that Ashley Du Preez returns to the team after a long absence. The attacker will start on the bench.

In his line-up, the coach has made two changes compared to the last game, against Polokwane City.

In the middle of the park, Mthethwa is replaced by Edson Castillo and the second change is in attack, where Jasond Gonzalez starts ahead of Ranga Chivaviro

The coach will retain his 4-3-3 formation.

Bruce Bvuma is the goalkeeper.

At the back, Chiefs will have S’fiso Hlanti at left-back, Edmilson Dove is at centre-back with Given Msimango, and Reeve Frosler runs on the right.

Yusuf Maart will partner with Castillo in midfield. They will have Nkosingiphile Ngcobo in front of them.

On the wings, Chiefs have last game’s goal scorer Pule Mmodi on the left and Christian Saile will be on the right.

Gonzalez leads the attack.

Maart captains the team.

The referee is Abongile Tom. He is assisted by Given Letlaka and Romario Phiri on the lines. The match’s fourth official is Cedric Muvhali.

The DStv Premiership clash between The Glamour Boys and the Natal Rich Boys commences at 15:30 at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg. The match is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
