Coach Gavin Hunt has decided to make a few changes to the starting line-up for this afternoon’s encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns compared to last week’s 2-1 over Maritzburg United in an MTN8 quarterfinal.
Willard Katsande and Lebogang Manyama return to the starting XI after having been suspended for the cup tie, while Leonardo Castro comes in for Lazalous Kambole. The Colombian striker, who came on at the start of the second half in last week’s game, has fully recovered from his hamstring injury.
The Kaizer Chiefs coach has otherwise decided to go with the same line-up for this afternoon’s first DStv Premiership fixture of the 2020/2021 season.
It means that Itumeleng Khune, who will again wear the captaincy armband, will continue in goal, while, from right to left, Reeve Frosler, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Daniel Cardoso and Yagan Sasman will form the backline.
Katsande will be the defensive midfielder with Manyama to his side. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Bernard Parker will operate in more forward positions.
Khama Billiat and Castro form the frontline.
The referee is Luxolo Badi, while his assistants are Athenkosi Ndongeni and Shaun Olive. Akhona Makalima will be the fourth official.
The match between Chiefs and Sundowns will kick-off at 15:30.
No spectators will be allowed in the stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the DStv channel SuperSport 2 and SABC 1, with commentary coming through the Twitter handle, @KaizerChiefs and various SABC radio stations.
