Newly signed Leonardo Castro started training at the Village today with the first squad after having returned from Colombia. “This is a big day for me,” the striker comments. “I am happy to join a big team like Kaizer Chiefs.”
Castro was signed from Mamelodi Sundowns, which he joined in 2015. He scored 14 goals during his first season at Chloorkop. He won the league title and cups with Sundowns, including the African Champions League.
“I appreciate the opportunity to play for Chiefs,” Castro continues, “and I will make sure to repay the confidence and trust the club have shown in me.
“Big teams like Chiefs need to win trophies and participate in international tournaments like the African Champions League. The club is very professionally run and I want to bring my goals to help the team succeed.”
The 28-year-old can’t wait to play in front of the Amakhosi faithful. “I want to help Chiefs win championships,” Castro promises the supporters.
