Kaizer Chiefs’ players were warmly welcomed by the staff when arriving at the Chiefs Village before their training session today.

There was some enthusiastic singing and a number of employees were carrying placards with the words: “2014/2015 league champions. Kaizer Chiefs.”

Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter reacted amused to the celebrations, even though he indicated after yesterday’s 4-1 win over Polokwane City that the champagne bottles can only be opened after the last league clash against Chippa United on Saturday, May 9.

“This is wonderful guys,” he told the staff who were clearly in a festive mood after the Amakhosi grabbed the Absa Premiership title on Wednesday evening.
