Kaizer Chiefs together with computer giants Acer launched a Johannesburg Cyber Centre in downtown Johannesburg on Friday afternoon, an initiative designed to empower the supporters by offering them computer training.

This is the second Cyber Centre launched by this giant of South African football.

The first was opened at Amakhosi’s headquaters in Naturena, in which the players and the staff have been receiving training in computers as well as interacting with the supporters via the club's website and surfing the net.

As from now on the supporters as well as the public in general will also enjoy the same privilages as the Johannesburg Central Cyber Centre will offer training in computer as well as internet café where they will be able to surf the net and send and receive emails.

Those supporters will the valid membership cards will enjoy discounted rates on the courses offered.

Report on the Launch by Tsakani

From a Supporter’s view

As expected a lot of Chatters were there. There were lots of KC supporters on the day & notably the Bekkersdal branch was there. The minibus they were using had a Bekkersdal flag on it. There were also some old-Timers in there. I guess they’ve been following the team since it was formed. Their heads were telling all.

There was of course some young blood like us. We all gathered outside the Place before the proceedings, the CB Members were having their forum & it was nice as everybody was showing up.

The Actual launch began a bit later than scheduled. The PA system was not in a good working condition but everything went ahead. Those who were privileged enough to get into the centre managed to hear a word or two from the speeches that were made. Unfortunately it’s only our PRO who could be heard. The place is small but People making speeches couldn’t be heard.

On Behalf of the KC mgt, Mr Motaung made a speech unfortunately I didn’t get to hear much of what he said except the fact that the Supporters are happy at Ted appointment. There were also speeches by Acer, Players & Supporters. Saddam & Gerald Sibeko spoke on behalf of the Supporters & the Players respectively.

We (Ususpect, Me, Mabures) also got to chat to Vivian after the proceedings & it was interesting to see how excited they were about the Launch and also the Cyber Branch. What was also interesting is noticing that Vivian & Nhlanhla had a supporter’s mind. They understand what the supporters needs are. We had a long chat about a lot of things that are happening in the CB.

Not to forget the days of the PCM & MMG. The MMG (Bossruu) & the PCM (Nkulu) Presidents were there; Vivian talked of how much they used to enjoy those msg’s on the issues.

After all that it was music & food. It was serve yoself except for the meat.

Mabures also managed to hook up with some few Branch Chairperson’s & most importantly meet Viv & Co. to setup a date when we can meet with them.

Finally, Its nice to c so many Youth involved in soccer. I believe its about time we revolutionalized soccer. If u look @ People who r in the forefront, it’s the Old guards. Unfortunately, I’m only reporting on the matters of interest & not everything that went on.
