The lines are being drawn for the upcoming battle between Amakhosi and the Urban Warriors. At stake is the R8 million of the MTN8 Wafa Wafa, with the winner taking all the prize money. The MTN8 final will be hosted at Port Elizabeth’s Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 19 September (kick-off is at 15:00).
It’s already the eighth edition of the MTN8 cup tournament since the cell phone company started taking over the sponsorship of this competition in 2008.
Chiefs won the first MTN sponsored edition and also last year’s Top Eight competition, after beating Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the final.
Tickets are selling fast at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets countrywide. Ticket prices are set at R40 (Upper Tier), R60 (East, North, South Lower Tier) and R80 (West Lower Tier). Children’s tickets are set at R10.
