The game was lacking in entertainment value, but did give Chiefs a winning start to the season, although it might have to be seen how important that victory relates to Chiefs 4-3 away victory in East London last season.

How ironic it is that Chiefs once again meet Bush Bucks with three games to go in a seemingly hopeless situation as they did last term. That time around Chiefs prevailed in a seven goal thriller and then led the march to a second PSL title. When the two teams met on the 15th May last year the Amakhosi could not afford a slip, as it would have meant that the championship race would have been over. Chiefs went a goal down early on but then took the lead through two goals in the space of a minute as Scara Ngobese found the equalizer on thirty five minutes and Collins Mbesuma put Chiefs ahead soon after.

As Chiefs began to take things easy in the second half - Sibusiso Mazibuko struck to level matters on fifty- five minutes and then completed his brace in the 81st minute to give Bucks the advantage. With time running out Chiefs were thrown a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty with a minute of regulation time left and Collins Mbesuma wasted no time in finishing off the dead ball. With many of the Chiefs fans beginning to leave the stadium thinking all was lost - up stepped the much criticized David Radebe who took on a number of defenders and struck from distance, scored Chiefs fourth goal and ensure victory for The Amakhosi in injury time.

Chiefs enter Saturday’s game just as they did in last season's encounter against Bucks - that there can be no margin for error. With results elsewhere favouring The Amakhosi, Saturday night provides Chiefs with the best opportunity to once again put themselves into the championship race.

Having lost to bottom place Classic last weekend ,Chiefs will be looking to make amends with victory against Bush Bucks who are also fighting to stay in the PSL.
