Kaizer Chiefs and the Supersport Zone cemented their historic partnership with a star-studded launch of the official Kaizer Chiefs website in Johannesburg on Monday night.

The entire Amakhosi squad as well as a host of prominent media personalities and celebrities were on hand at the Rosebank Hyatt Hotel to herald the launch of kaizerchiefs.com.

The SuperSport Zone team will manage and develop the Kaizer Chiefs website and will also provide readers with hot-off-the-press news, in-depth match reports, player profiles, fixtures, results and photo galleries.

Kaizer Chiefs will be closely involved in their innovative and comprehensive website by facilitating live chats with a host of Amakhosi stars as well as the colourful Putco Mafani, Chiefs' public relations officer.

By joining forces, Kaizer Chiefs and the SuperSport Zone are again leading the way in South African soccer. The website has been running in a pilot phase since April and has grown to well over 500 000 page impressions per month, making it easily the biggest sports team website in Africa.

A hugely popular feature on the site is the Chat Board where the supporters can engage in discussion on topical issues.

Sport and the Internet have proven to be a winning combination, allowing fans all over the world to keep up to date with all the latest news in just a few clicks. The SuperSport Zone is among the world's leaders in online sports news.

Staffed by dedicated sports enthusiasts, the Zone is updated continuously, around the clock, seven days a week from SuperSport's base at the Broadcast Centre in Randburg.

"The SuperSport Zone is thrilled to be involved with Kaizer Chiefs in running and developing this exciting new website that will offer a wealth of information to all who fanatically follow their Amakhosi heroes." said Ray Moore, General Manager of the SuperSport Zone.

"Kaizer Chiefs are certainly dedicated to the site, which is crucial to any website’s success”.

The merging of two of South Africa's leading names in sport gives both the SuperSport Zone and Kaizer Chiefs an excellent opportunity to strengthen their ties in what will undoubtedly be a lengthy and mutually beneficial relationship.

With SuperSport televising PSL matches live for the first time this year, coupled with the SuperSport Zone's online venture with Chiefs, SA soccer fans will be able to see their stars perform on television, with the added benefit of sourcing a wealth of information from the Internet.
