Kaizer Chiefs were on Sunday night awarded 3 goals and progress to the the next stage following Volcan de Moroni's failure to arrive in Durban for the second leg fixture of the CAF Champion's League at the Moses Mabhida stadium.

The match was initially scheduled to take place on Saturday at 19:30 but Amakhosi agreed to the Match Commissioner's request to move the match on two occasions to accommodate the opponents' travel arrangements and to afford the supporters a chance to watch the match.

The Glamour boys arrived at the stadium on time and were ready for action, however, upon realising the opposition would not arrive for the match, the Match Commissioner took a decision to award Kaizer Chiefs a walk over.

"We really tried our best in the spirit of football and fair play to have the match played but, unfortunately Volcan were unable to pitch at the stadium," said club spokesperson Vina Maphosa. "Though the matter was beyond our control, we apologise to the football community and supporters that arrived at the stadium for the inconvenience caused."

Kaizer Chiefs will await results of the other matches before we find out who between ASEC Mimosas/AS Cotontchad will be our next opponents.

The aggregate score is 7 nil to Kaizer Chiefs after the club registered a convincing 4 nil away win in Comoros.
