“We are expecting everyone back at training fully recharged for the tough couple of months ahead. The rest was good for everyone in the camp. December was a very tough month for everyone and I am sure everyone drew some positive lessons out of the experience,” he said.
The Glamour Boys looked like they were back on track in November after having a shaky start in the season. In November, the Glamour Boys won four out of five games and strongly challenged early title contenders, Ajax Cape Town, SuperSport United and Golden Arrows.
In December though things did not go well as Amakhosi managed to pick up only two points out of a possible twelve but Bobby Motaung remains positive. First it was a loss away to Santos in Cape Town, followed by a three all draw at home with Bay United, a humiliating defeat away to Free State Stars and a disappointing draw against Platinum Stars in the 2008 finale.
“We had a chat with the boys following our draw against Platinum Stars. We hope that everyone was able to go back home and reflect on the experiences of the first half of the season. We have to put what happened during the first round behind us because second round is going to be even tougher. 2009 promises to be a taxing year and everyone should be ready. We have tough matches coming up in January so we need to be at the best shape possible both physically and psychologically,”
“We remain positive about our chances to challenge for honours this season. We continue to believe in the team and hope that with more patience from the fans we will do even better than we had done in the first half that saw us winning the inaugural MTN 8,” he concluded.
