Kaizer Chiefs resumed training on Monday, 07 January in preparation for what promises to be a gruelling finish to what has been an exciting 2012/13 season.

The players were taken through their paces by the Conditioning Coach, Joshua Smith. The only absent players were the seven players who are currently busy with the national team preparing for the upcoming 2013 Orange Afcon.

At Chiefs Village to welcome the players was Football Manager, Bobby Motaung; “On Monday it was a light session and we welcomed everyone from the break.

“Everyone was in good spirit and we are all looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. This year is about Reclaiming the Glory and we are aware that it is not going to be easy.

“Our aim is to remain on top of the Absa Premiership until the last day of the season.

Motaung went on to congratulate the Club as it turned 43 on Monday, 07 January; “It is a privilege to be part of such a special brand. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Club for this milestone. There is nothing we want more than celebrating the season by winning the league title.

“I would also like to pay tribute to the Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung for all he has sacrificed for this Club to be where it is today. I am not forgetting the past heroes that helped to build this Club to become a reputable institution and a ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

“We have a big task in our hands to continue with what started back in 1970. I grew up here witnessing the Club winning trophies after trophies and that is what Kaizer Chiefs is all about. We will also pay attention this year in developing players and plans are afoot to revive our youth structures. I am pleased with the ground covered in this regard.

Motaung also paid tribute to Kaizer Chiefs faithful; “They are very much part of what we are as the Club. The best supporters in the land without a doubt, they continue to demonstrate the love and passion for the Club. We are once again calling on them to continue rallying behind the Technical Team and the players during the upcoming crucial stage of the season.

We also want to appeal to the fans to be patient and to keep on visiting the Club’s properties for updates. There have already been reports about movements of players and also certain players linked with the Club. We will soon release a statement as it has been the norm over the years,” added Motaung.
