Kaizer Chiefs, through their KC Retail Store made a stopover in Harrismith on their way to Phuthaditjhaba on Friday afternoon much to the delight of the Love & Peace faithful.

The multitude came to visit the gold and black stall setup on the ground of the City Hall, and one supporter, Rapontsho Willie, couldn’t contain his excitement at the sight of the Chiefs touch down in the quiet town of Harrismith in the Free State. He expressed his excitement, “I love Chiefs and have been a supporter since childhood. I just like the way Chiefs play, the style is not only in the field of play, we live like real chiefs. I am glad you came to my town and we look forward to many more visits. I think the team is doing well and we will play well again this season.”

Rapontsho revealed that he will be in Phuthaditjhaba on Saturday to support his team.

Echoing Rapontsho’s excitement was Ntombi Mthembu from Tshiame. She said, “I won a prize after successfully answering a question. I have been a Chiefs supporter since 1994. I hope this is the start of more visits here, I am glad we met some of the Chiefs’ management and got first-hand information about the Club and its offerings.”

Ntombi was flanked by Nombulelo Mazibuko from Tshiamo who was upbeat to see Chiefs in town. She said, “We are looking forward to a good game tomorrow. We want to celebrate Women’s Day with a Chiefs win tomorrow. We are praying for our team to do well this season.”

If the spirit here is anything to write home about, Phuthaditjhaba will be abuzz this weekend and the colours of the Amakhosi will be reigning supreme in and around Qwaqwa.

Chiefs will be taking on Free State Stars in their first game of the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season, at the Charles Mopeli Stadium. Kickoff is at 15:00 on Women’s’ Day, on Saturday, 9 August 2014.
