Head Coach, Stuart Baxter insisted after the Absa Premiership fixture where the Amakhosi gave Usuthu a 6-0 drubbing that his charges can still improve and play even better this season.

Baxter refused to get carried away despite his team dishing out one of the best performances in recent years; “The result was fantastic and I am pleased with the performance. We unbalanced a very good AmaZulu team and this was a good reaction following a week where we were knocked out of the MTN8.”

“I still believe we can play better as the season progresses. This is work in progress and there is a lot of work we need to do on the training pitch.”

“We started bit slow and the guys looked a bit nervous in the first 15 minutes of the game. We then started attacking them and eventually scoring two goals in the first half. “

“We changed our tactics a little bit and I was pleased in the manner that all the players responded to our game plan.”

Stuart Baxter who was making his Absa Premiership debut as a coach since taking over the reigns in June heaped praise on striker, Bernard Parker after scoring four and creating another goal in what was a brilliant all round performance from the boys from Phefeni.

“Bernard (Parker) has all the qualities that a shadow striker should possess. I am very happy in the way he is playing for the team.”

“He is a good professional and someone who comes to training and gives his all. He was brilliant for us on Saturday night and so was the rest of the team,” he told kaizerchiefs.com on Sunday afternoon.

Kgotso Moleko also impressed in his debut; “He is a good player. He did not attack as much as one would have expected but I am sure with him making his debut he wanted to play it simple.

“He is an offensive defender and we will keep working with him and provide him with the necessary support as a Technical Team,” added Baxter.

The Glamour Boys will now face Mamelodi Sundowns in what promises to be a thrilling Absa Premiership clash at Soccer City Complex on Wednesday, 22 August 2012. The match is scheduled to kick off at 19:30.

The two sides will be meeting for the second time this month after squaring up in the MTN8 early August.
