The Amakhosi Team Captain, Itumeleng Khune, emerged as the South African Sports Star of the Year at the 2013 SA Sports Awards, at Sun City, on Sunday, 17 November 2013.

The Glamour Boy, Khune, was voted by the voting public as the Sports Star of the Year and walked away with R1 milion cheque half of it goes to charity and a BMW motor vehicle.
Khune was recently a big winner at the 2013 PSL Awards and went on to dominate the Kaizer Chiefs Team awards.

The event was televised live from 20:00, on SS4 and SABC1 from Sun City.
