The 26 were tragically killed in a road accident of the victims 21 were players and five were fans, the victim’s burial services began on Friday and are scheduled to take place through the weekend.
Condolences have poured in from around the football world and also sending his words of sorrow to the mourning families was FIFA President Sepp Blatter, who on Thursday sent a letter of condolence to them via the President of the Lesotho Football Association Salemane Phafane. On Friday The Premier Soccer League through Life President Mr. Leepile Taunyane also expressed their condolences to the Lesotho Football Association in a statement which was published on the leagues official website.
Chairman Condolence
The Chiefs Chairman passed on his condolences to the grieving families saying, “on behalf of the entire Kaizer Chiefs family, I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased players and fans as well as to the Football Association of Lesotho and the people of Lesotho. To all the families and loved ones of the deceased do remember that our prayers are with you at this time, may GOD give you the strength to come through what surely is a very trying and testing time."
