As the curtain comes down on another DStv Premiership season on Africa Day this coming Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs will end the campaign with an important fixture against Cape Town Spurs in Cape Town.


It is a must-win match for Kaizer Chiefs who need all three points to secure a top 8 finish against the already relegated Cape Town Spurs. For Spurs, it is a game of pride as they will not want to bow out without a fight. Another factor in the game is that most of the Spurs players want to attract interest from other teams by putting on their best performance.


Amakhosi are desperate for a win so they increase their points tally from 36 to 39, and secure their spot in the MTN8 competition when the new season kicks off in August. Amakhosi have are in 8th spot after 29 matches. The hosts, Spurs are 16th with 20 points in 29 outings. After one season in the top-flight, they will return to the lower Motsepe Foundation League at the start of next season.


There have been no recoveries insofar as injuries are concerned for Chiefs. Players such as George Matlou, Keagan Dolly, Reeve Frosler, Dillan Solomons and Tebogo Potsane are still nursing an assortment of ailments. Defender, Edmilson Dove, will also miss his third game in a row after he picked up his second red card of the season against TS Galaxy two weeks ago.
