Naturena, Thursday 27th March 2014, Kaizer Chiefs welcome AS Vita Club from Kinshasa, DRC to play in their 2nd Leg of the 2nd Round of the Champions League.

The much anticipated clash is a must win for the Amakhosi as they trail their opponent, from the 1st Leg away defeat of 3 – 0. Coach Stuart Baxter and his lads have vowed they will be using their home ground advantage to good effect on Saturday evening.

“We played well away in Kinshasa despite the 3 goals conceded. We dominated parts of the game especially in the first half and in the dying minutes of the game. The crowd was fantastic behind their Team. If anyone thinks the tie is over, they must think again, football is a funny game. We will be playing in front of our supporters and in our usual conditions. We must score an early goal and make sure we don’t concede. We could have scored a goal or two in Kinshasa and that could have changed the complexion of the game,” said Baxter looking ahead of the battle on Saturday.

“The crowd and the vibe leading to the match in Kinshasa last week was amazing. The crowd attendance was out of this world. The stadium was packed in and around the stadium precinct. Wherever we went, the public united against us as the visitors. We need the South Africans to rally behind us on Saturday. We cannot let AS Vita Club come and go without feeling the presence of the supporters at the stadium,” commented Vina Maphosa, giving eye witness account from the Amakhosi’s trip to Kinshasa last week.

Pa Gaxa did not travel with the Team to Kinshasa due to illness.

“I wanted to be part of the Team to DRC. It is unfortunate that we lost the game. I knew we were going to find it tough there especially with their supporters rallying behind their Team. I have been there before, it is intimidating to play over there but I had confidence in our guys that they will perform. I saw the highlights of the game, we should have scored and no doubt we are capable of scoring 4 goals here at home. The Team spirit is high and we will go out and enjoy ourselves on Saturday. This is one of the challenges that as professional athletes and a big Club like Chiefs have to face head on,” commented Pa with supreme confidence.

The tickets for the mouthwatering clash are available at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide at a cost of R40. Doors open at 17:00.
