Naturena, Kaizer Chiefs Development side under the tutelage of the Development Coach Donald ‘Ace’ Khuse trounced Godisanang 4 – 0 on Saturday in Alexandra to advance to the promotional playoffs. The playoff winner will play in the ABC Motsepe League in the next season. The goals in the match that took place at the 3-Square Stadium were scored by the quartet of Chris Matombo, Itumeleng Moshobane, Pule Ekstein and Mpho ‘Jomo’ Khumalo.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com after the victory Khuse expressed his excitement at the achievement;

“I feel honoured to be part of this achievement. This is the first time we participated in the SAB League and to advance to the playoffs is remarkable. The commitment of the lads and everyone involved in the Club is starting to produce fruits. The Chairman’s (Kaizer Motaung) dream is coming to fruition. I would like on behalf of the development team thank him for his leadership and support,” said Khuse.

“We have been working consistently hard this season. The spirit of Development as led by the Chairman has captured the imagination of the team. The captain Zitha Macheke has been fantastic as the leader and players such as Chris Matombo and Pule Ekstein have been the pillars in the team this season not forgetting the role played by each member of the team,” commented Khuse.

Chiefs Development side will begin their playoffs games against the yet to be announced opponents on 28 June 2014 at the University of Johannesburg grounds.
