Chiefs Development has over the years produced players who have gone to make it big at the Club. The likes of Ryder Mofokeng, Doctor Khumalo, Jabu Pule (Mahlangu), Itumeleng Khune and many others came through the Club’s development structures.
Stalianou, a Kaizer Chiefs player who played for the Glamour Boys from 1978 revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that they are going to look at key factors during the recruitment, “For the first and second trails we will look at technical ability, speed, winning the ball, ball possession, the ability to play quickly and movement of the ball,” he said.
Trial dates
U13: Sunday June 13th
U15: Tuesday June 15th
U17: Monday June 21st
U19 and older: Tuesday June 22
First round successful players to report for 2nd round trials:
U13: Thursday June 24th
U15: Thursday June 24th
U17: Friday June 25th
U19 and older: Friday June 25th
Playing Kit/Food
All players should bring their own playing kit – boots, shin pads, shorts and tops including own food and water as trials could take several hours.
Identity
ID documents, birth certificates etc do not have to be produced at the first round of trials. Successful players will need to produce their ID documents.
The Kaizer Chiefs Development will carry out a thorough investigation on correct age and proper documentation of the successful player.
Venue
Shaft 17, also known as Johannesburg College – situated approximately 800m from Soccer City on the main road to Soweto.
Players from the following places Eldorado Park, surrounding areas, East Rand, West Rand, Sebokeng who are unable to attend trails at Shaft 17 should keep on checking the details on kaizerchiefs.com on when the trails will be held on those venues.
