Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to set the record straight following their last League encounter with Sundowns in Durban which ended in a goalless draw.
The Gauteng Challenge 2008 has been dubbed as the ‘North vs South Challenge’ with Moroka Swallows taking on SuperSport United at 14h10, followed by the encounter between the Mighty Amakhosi, Kaizer Chiefs and Tshwane side, Mamelodi Sundowns at 16h10.
The Super Stadium gates will open at 12h00, and matches will be decided on penalties should the scores be level after 90 minutes.
Each team will be allowed to make six substitutions during a match.
In between the matches the battle will be on the decks between two top Gauteng DJ’s who will keep the crowd entertained with local Kwaito sounds and sizzling hot House mixes. DJ’s include Kwaito DJ, DJ Monde and House Maestro DJ Tokzen.
“Special thanks must go to the Gauteng Provincial Government, via the provincial Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, in ensuring that the fans will have the opportunity to come out in great numbers to witness 180 minutes of action-packed soccer entertainment,” said Putco Mafani, Challenge Spokesperson.
“Tickets for the Gauteng Challenge 2008 are on sale at Computicket outlets at R20 per person and R25 Covered Grand Stand which is the best value one can find for what will ultimately be close on 5 hours of entertainment.”
