Kaizer Chiefs failed to win their fourth game in a row as they played to a goalless draw against AmaZulu in an Absa Premiership match at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The first 45 minutes was a half controlled by the home side, but despite their dominance they couldn’t break down a stubborn Usuthu defence.

Instead they opted to take shots from long range, but with very little success.

The Amakhosi’s first shot on goal came in the 13th minute courtesy of Bernard Parker who let rip with a powerful shot from just outside the box. His effort, though, was well saved by Tapuwa Kapini.

Three minutes later and AmaZulu, despite seeing very little of the ball, had the best chance of the half.

Ayanda Dlamini found himself in space 12-yards out from goal, but his shot was well smothered by Itumeleng Khune.

In the 35th minute Parker was in the thick of the action again, this time shooting from 30-yards out, but again his shot was saved by Kapini.

The game entered halftime all square.

The second half lacked any real action with the first real attempt on goal coming in the 68th minute.

Siphiwe Tshabalala got onto the end of a Mandla Masango cross, but he headed wide from six-yards out.

In the 84th minute Chiefs were bitterly unlucky not to take the lead when Masango hit the woodwork from 12-yards out.

The game ended 0-0.
