Kaizer Chiefs faithful are positive ahead of the second edition of the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday, 28 July 2012 at Soccer City Complex. The supporters are determined there will be no repeat of what happened in 2011 when the Glamour Boys square up again with their traditional archrivals this weekend. The Glamour Boys despite having the upper hand lost on penalties in July 2011 in front of a packed capacity crowed stadium.

Kick off for the already sold out Soweto derby pitting the two giants of South African football Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates is at 19:30 (Hospitality tickets still on sale).

Richard Moroke, a Kaizer Chiefs supporter since 1974 told kaizerchiefs.com that as fans they are excited about the upcoming game against rivals Orlando Pirates; “As a supporter of the Club through and through over the years I have always looked forward to the Soweto derby. There will be no repeat of what happened last year – we are winning the cup.”

Moroke has been a Kaizer Chiefs supporter for the past 38 years; “I started to support the Club back in 1974 as an 8-year-old boy and the late Ace Ntsoelengoe, Teenage Dladla and Doctor Khumalo remains my all-time favourite players.”

“The Carling Black Label is a unique concept as it allows us to select the starting line-up, but it does not end there because it also gives the Coach an insight on how we see things from the supporter’s point of view. The Coach at the end will have a final say on which team to choose during the course of the season and we will rally behind his ideas and the team.”

“We will be filling the stadium on Saturday and at this stage we are not quite sure if the opposition fans will find an empty sit but the squeezing will start from the stands and filter down on the pitch,” he continued jokingly.

“The likes of Morgan Gould, Siboniso Gaxa who are competing for places for Saturday are going to make a huge difference in the team. We have now shut the back door there will be no space for Benni McCarthy.”

Richard Moroke who is part of Evaton West Branch insisted that the absence of trio, Jimmy Tau, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Kgotso Moleko will not dampen the spirits of the supporters; “We would like to wish all the three guys a speedy recovery.”

“They are all important players in the team but their absence will also allow the Coach to look at different combinations ahead of the start of the season. It will also give the Coach an idea on the on the strength of the team.”

Moroke echoed the voice of the Executive Chairman who during the Player’s Awards spoke strongly against the culture of booing players; “We strongly condemn the culture of booing players. This is something that is topical in all our branch meetings and fans who continue to do this might face wrath of other supporters whose intention is to rally behind the team.”

“We are happy that the branches around the country are sending a strong message regarding this and I have no doubt that the culture of supporting the team through and through will prevail this season. We have always shown over the years that we are difficult to break down when we are united.”

“We put an effort on the new project and all we can do as supporters is to rally behind the team and if that happens success is imminent,” added Moroke.

The Kaizer chiefs Villages has been inundated with calls from Chiefs supported all declaring allegiance with the team and anticipating a good game come Saturday.
