Kaizer Chiefs have an edge over Bloemfontein Celtic going to the potential thrilling Absa Premiership encounter to be played at Nelson Mandela Stadium on Saturday, 06 October 2012 (Kickoff is at 18H00).

The two sides have met 49 times in the Premiership since 1985 with Amakhosi registering impressive 28 wins compared to 10 for Celtic while 11 matches have ended in draws.

At home Chiefs have even more excellent record against Celtic, with 21 wins from 25 matches. The last time Chiefs lost a home match against Celtic was way back in 1993.

To add toast to the fixture is that couple of current Chiefs team have played for Bloemfontein Celtic, first Siyabonga Nkosi who left Celtic before the start of 2006/2007 season to join the Glamour Boys in a highly publicised move.

Nkosi back at Chiefs for a second spell is available for selection after sitting out the last three games due to injury.

Kgotso Moleko, a promising right back joined Chiefs this season from the Free State side. Moleko was solid as Chiefs sent Chippa United packing last Saturday at Soccer City.

No-nonsense towering defender, Eric Mathoho joined Chiefs as one of the big moves of 2012/2013 season after the player had expressed his desire to don the gold and black.

He has been a tower of strength in a solid Chiefs defence where he has been playing alongside Tefu Mashamaite.

Defenders, Dominic Isaacs and Brent Lawler joined Bloemfontein Celtic at the start of the season after spending some time at Naturena and they will have a point to prove against their former employers at Nelson Mandela Stadium.

Matches between the two sides have always been cracking affairs and it will not be different on Saturday. Stuart Baxter has already highlighted Celtic’s ‘energy’ that saw them sending neighbours Orlando Pirates packing last Sunday and the Glamour Boys will need to be at their best to take all the available points to Naturena.

Meanwhile the Club in conjuction with Vodacom will hold a roadshow at Spar Complex, Motherwell NU9 Friday, 05 October 2012 from 11H00 – 17H00.

Tickets are available at Shoprite/Checkers and Computicket nationwide at R40 for Adults and R10 for Juveniles
