PSV Eindhoven Under-17 Coach, Twan Scheepeus believes that Kaizer Chiefs is up there with the best following his visit to the Club HQ in Naturena.

PSV were in the country to participate in the Emfuleni/Eindhoven tournament held in the Vaal. The entire team toured the Kaizer Chiefs Village ahead of the Amakhosi against AmaZulu game where they had an opportunity to meet with members of the Management including Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung.

“With this facility and with millions of South Africans that appreciate the Club, Kaizer Chiefs is without a doubt up there with the best in the world. The Village is going to be even bigger when the construction work currently underway is finished. We also had an opportunity to visit the Kaizer Chiefs Store in the Village. Our players bought some of the merchandise and I could see they were very excited to be here.

“Kaizer Chiefs is also well known in Holland and when we broke the news to the players that we will be playing against them I could see the excitement in the group. It is a great experience for them not only to visit the Village but the country. I saw players exchanging contacts, hugging after the game and making new friends.

Friendship was pushed aside though when the two sides squared up, PSV were beaten 1-0 by their Kaizer Chiefs counterparts who went on to win the tournament; “They were impressive on the pitch too. I liked the way they play. Just like PSV, Chiefs attack nonstop they really gave us problems.

“I am taking this to the Board of the Club that in the near future we forge a partnership with Kaizer Chiefs. It is easy to see that the Chairman (Kaizer Motaung) has a great vision for the Club. I had an opportunity to meet Football Manager, Bobby Motaung back in 2010 to discuss the possibilities, exchange programs, etc. I am hopeful we can revive the talks.

Scheepeus who joined the rest of PSV contingent including the team to watch Chiefs beating AmaZulu 2-0 on their last game of the year was also impressed by the senior side; “I thought they played well and deserved to win the game.

Their fans did not stop cheering them which I think is also massive for the players. I would like to wish them all the best in their pursuit to winning the Championship this season,” added the former PSV player.
