Chiefs confirmed the acquisition of the services of a much-talked about midfielder-cum-striker Mthokozisi Yende, as well as an experienced central defender from Zimbabwe, Thomas Sweswe.
“We have great pleasure to announce that we have agreed on terms with Mthokozisi and his team TUKS United Football Club, to acquire his services. The onus is now with TUKS’ legal team to finalize due processes with regards to the signing of the contracts and agreements” said Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager, Bobby Motaung.
“A need also arose for us to ensure that we reinforce our defence material for next season. We have subsequently secured a three year contract with a central defender, Thomas Sweswe from Zimbabwe whose international track record speaks for it self. We are confident that his loads of experience, will ensure that we have a water-tight defence line-up next season” Motaung added
Both players have agreed to sign three year contracts with Amakhosi.

Sweswe’s signature saw the release of Mokete Tsotetsi to Bloemfontein Celtic, a central defender whom Motaung believes has a great potential to succeed in football.
“Mokete has a bright future ahead of him. He is a player with loads of potential and we believe he has made his mark with the team and will continue to do the same at Celtics. On behalf of the Kaizer Chiefs Family I would like to thank him for his contribution to the team. He has demonstrated a very good professional behaviour at Chiefs, we also would like to wish him success in his new club” said Motaung.
