The newly launched Club’s jersey has continued to cause ‘traffic’ at the Chiefs Village with fans coming through to buy at the Shop. This was revealed to kaizerchiefs.com by Supporters Retail Manager, Emmanuel Khumalo.

The new strip for the upcoming season was launched a week ago (last Tuesday, 28 June 2011) at Nike Centre and on Sunday the whole team was at the same venue for the jersey reveal.

“People have been coming to the Village in huge numbers and about 80% of our sales are on the jersey. I am sure no one wants to be left out during the Vodacom Challenge and everyone wants to be wearing the new Club jersey,” said Khumalo with a smile.

A member of Johannesburg Supporters Club, Johannes “Javas” Hadebe had this to say about the new jersey, “It is exciting times for the Club. This jersey takes me back to the early 90s when we had a striped jersey and we won a lot of trophies. I have a feeling that the jersey is going to bring back those glory days when we used to sweep the boards,”

Hadebe said he prefers buying Club merchandise at The Village, “Ever since the shop was opened at the Village last year I have been a regular customer as a proud member of the Family. This is where you will never find anything ‘fong kong’ but all authentic products. I always encourage my friends and people that I meet at games to come through to the Village to get the Club’s exclusive merchandise including the New Jersey,”

Khumalo closed it off by revealing that the range for children has also been selling well, “We have lot of parents coming with their children to the shop and they have been demanding to have the jersey including young girls.

The Kaizer Chiefs Shop is located at Club Head Quarters and is open between 09:00-16:30 hrs on Monday to Friday and on Saturday from 09:30-13:30 hrs.
