Mozambique - The Glamour Boys touched down at Maputo International Airport on Friday morning ahead of their Champions League match against Mozambican League (Moçambola) Champions, Liga Desportiva Muçulmana de Maputo (Mozambique) on Saturday evening.
The team was welcomed by High Commissioner Charles Nqakula at the arrivals terminal of Maputo International Airport.
Maria Matamela acting secretary to the High Commissioner was among the crowd that welcomed the Amakhosi and she couldn't contain her excitement,
"We are here to welcome Kaizer Chiefs. We are a group of South Africans including Counsellor Mr Brian Ritter second in charge to the High Commissioner," said Matamela.
"Welcome to Mozambique. We are proud of South Africa and Kaizer Chiefs is one of the important entities in South Africa. We would like to encourage the Team to do what they do best on the field of play. We wish you all of the best," said High Commissioner Charles Nqakula.
Siphiwe Tshabalala expressed happiness on behalf of his teammates," We are happy to get this kind of reception. It is encouraging for us and we will do our bit on the field of play on Saturday. We will not take the game lightly just because we are leading 4 - 0. Tomorrow will be a new ball game," said Tshabalala.
The CAF Champions League game will be played on Saturday 8 March 2014, kickoff is at 18:00.
The venue is Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto National Stadium in Maputo and tickets will be sold on match day at the stadium at a price of 100 Metacals or R40.
