“Brazil is one of the super powers in world football and we really appreciate the opportunity they have given our players.
It was really an honour to receive a request from them that they would like to play a practice match with our U-17 boys,” said Ryder Mofokeng.
Doctor Khumalo who had an opportunity to play against Dunga in 1996 Nelson Mandela Challenge also welcomed an opportunity to meet up with the 1994 World Cup winning captain.
“I was fortunate to play against him on that evening at Soccer City...these boys are really fortunate that at 15/16 years of age they are playing with some of the greatest players in world football.
We thought presenting a Chiefs Legends jersey is our way of saying thank you to Dunga for giving so much to world football and also for affording our boys an opportunity to play this practice match against them,” said the current Chiefs U-17 coach and African Cup of Nations winner with Bafana Bafana.
Dunga who spoke through an interpreter thanked the Club for the jersey and for giving his players a run ahead of the crucial Confederations Cup fixture against Bafana Bafana on Thursday night.
