Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they welcome Bidvest Wits in what promises to be a thrilling Absa Premiership encounter taking place at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 9 November 2013.
The Absa Premiership champions have won three, drawn three and lost two games in the league this season but are yet to lose a league game at FNB Stadium since March 2012.
The Glamour Boys go to the encounter against Bidvest Wits after suffering an away loss against Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday.
Head Coach, Stuart Baxter has lamented the inconsistency and lack of sharpness at the final half of their play but the Amakhosi mentor is happy with the quality of his players. Coach Baxter is optimistic that as soon as the league fixtures settle, his side will get their rhythm that saw them bag the Championship and Cup double last season. Against Ajax, Chiefs had not suffered loss in the six league and Cup games.
“Obviously we are disappointed that we did not take anything with us from the Ajax game. We just have to go back to Johannesburg to lick our wounds and sharpen our swords to be ready for the next battle (Kaizer Chiefs v Bidvest Wits, Saturday 9 November 2013, FNB, 20:15),” Baxter said after the Ajax and Chiefs match.
Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung presented an assortment of activities happening from The Village; “A build up to the Saturday game has long begun with the preparations together with other stakeholders. Paramount to us is for the supporters to enjoy a Kaizer Chiefs experience in and outside the stadium. We have recently announced the KC Mobile as the big new addition to the Amakhosi Family. Meanwhile Communications Manager, Vina Maphosa urged the fans to continue buying tickets for the upcoming game; “We are back again at our home, FNB Stadium, this weekend and we once again call on the Amakhosi faithful to come in numbers to the game. We collected four points last season against Bidvest Wits. A lot has changed in their camp with a new coach Gavin Hunt and a number of new players in their squad. In the last 10 league games Chiefs got the better of Wits on six occasions with Wits clinching one victory in their own backyard, while the other three games with 1-all draws. We are sitting at position 6 with 12 points and they are on position 2 with 15 points after 8 games in 2013 – 14 PSL League. We can’t let them extend the gap on Saturday.”
Tickets are selling for R40 at Shoprite/Checkers including Computicket nationwide.” added Maphosa.
