The spirits were high at Club’s headquarters, Naturena as the team resumed training having taken two days off following an emphatic victory against Free State Stars away in QwaQwa last Saturday.

Chiefs will be looking to start the second round the way they finished the first round when they meet Santos in Cape Town on Friday, 20 November 2009.

The game between the two sides produced no goals the last time the two met at Orlando early August.

Captain, Jimmy Tau who seem to have regained his form emphasized the importance of good start in what promises to be a grueling last round.

“The win against Free State Stars was a great one for us.

We once again proved that we have what it takes to conquer in the Absa Premiership. We learnt lot of lessons in the first round where we lost and drew games we were supposed to win. We have to put that behind now and build from the win against Free State Stars when we meet Santos next week,” said Tau.

“The second round is going to be tougher than the first round. We will play up to nine games between now and the 19th December and during that time we are facing top opposition in SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town…we can also not underestimate teams like Maritzburg United, Platinum Stars, AmaZulu and Celtic.”

The Captain looked very sharp at training on Tuesday morning, “It feels good to be playing again. I am gaining confidence by each game that passes. Having said that I have confidence in every player in the squad, so whomever the coach gives a nod on the day should be able to deliver for the team. It is never about individuals but the team,” added Tau.
