The Club has been dealt a serious blow after rightback, Jimmy Tau was ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury Dave Milner revealed to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday afternoon.

Rightback, Jimmy Tau affectionately known in football circles as ‘Big V’ has been out since end of last season after initially injuring his ankle in a 0-0 draw against AmaZulu in May, the last game of the season. The Club issued a statement that the player was going to be out for three months (and would return to training in September) and he did start light training under the watchful eye of the Medical Team also doing some ball work with his teammates.

“Jimmy Tau has undergone a surgery to stabilise a joint on his left foot after tearing a ligament. He was assessed after completing training session last week. It was initially decided by the Medical Team that we try conservative management first to try and stabilise the joint with exercise and strapping before further management would be considered,”

Milner continued, “Unfortunately the injury did not respond and he had a surgery on Tuesday. He will be out for the rest of the season,”
