Kaizer Chiefs will be in action for the last time in 2021 when they welcome Maritzburg United to the FNB Stadium this evening for a DStv Premiership encounter.

This is the second meeting of the current season between the two sides after meeting in a corresponding fixture in Maritzburg on 21 November. Chiefs won that clash 1-0.

With many players now in the final stages of their return to play after the Club was hit by a Covid-19 outbreak, Khama Billiat, Phathutshedzo Nange, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Njabulo Ngcobo will start the match this evening.

The two teams lost their previous DStv matches and will look to end 2021 on a high as they go into their Christmas and AFCON break. After this round of action, PSL action will only resume in February 2022.

Hosts Amakhosi have played 15 matches and collected 25 points. Maritzburg on the other hand have played 17 games with 15 points in the bag. Amakhosi are sixth on the log table and the visitors are in 12th  position.

Coach Arthur Zwane takes charge of his third game in a row due to coach Stuart Baxter’s absence.

Zwane has made four changes as he has decided to bring on Khama Billiat for Leonardo Castro, Njabulo Ngcobo will come on for Austin Dube, Ramahlwe Mphahlele is in for the injured Reeve Frosler and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is replaced by Phathutshedzo Nange.

Chiefs will again stick to the 4-3-3 formation against Maritzburg.

Nigerian net-minder Daniel Akpeyi retains his position.

Amakhosi’s back four will be made up of Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Daniel Cardoso, Mphahlele and Siyabonga Ngezana.

The three midfielders are Njabulo Ngcobo, Nange and Njabulo Blom.

Bernard Parker moves to the left of the attack and Keagan Dolly is on the right.

Billiat is the main attacker.

Parker will captain the team.

The match officials are referee Cedric Muvhali. He will be assisted by Sandile Dilikane and the second assistant is Elphas Sitole. The fourth official is Calphyne Kubheka.

The DStv Premiership between the Phefeni Glamour Boys and The Team of Choice will start at 19:30 at FNB Stadium in Nasrec. No spectators will be allowed in the stadium. The game will be live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and carried by various SABC Radio stations, with regular updates of the match on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
