The battle field moved from the ICC in Durban to the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
With Durban in the limelight for the past couple of days as it played host to the World and put up a well staged show for the FIFA 2010 World Cup preliminary draw on Sunday, it was Johannesburg’s turn to host the football world on Monday as the internationally renowned football exhibition show known as Soccerex was opened at the Sandton convention centre.
Thousands of delegates, exhibitors and members of the media from around the world have converged on Sandton for the three day event which ends on Wednesday. Most of the world's big teams the likes of Manchester United, FC Barcelona as well as the Brazilian national team have representatives attending the show.
In addition to be being a forum for football discussion, Soccerex also provides various companies from around the world the opportunity to display their wares. From your favourite club's slippers through to the latest technology in monitoring your team/s on field performances could all be found at Soccerex 2007
Chiefs part of the show
Since 2003 The Amakhosi have been exhibitors at Soccerex and on Monday welcomed the world once again to their state of the art double story stand in the centre of exhibition hall 1, at the Sandton Convention Centre.
Visitors to the Chiefs stand are treated to a video presentation of the club's history through the years, as well as a model of The Amakhosi Stadium, which is currently being built in Mogale City, west of Johannesburg.
Amakhosi director of Marketing Jessica Motaung was on hand Monday to welcome delegates to the Chiefs stand and told kaizerchiefs.com "the club's continued presence at this show keeps us in the global football spotlight, being part of Soccerex has also helped us keep up with the marketing and other changes taking place in the world of soccer."
In keeping with the trend of enticing more visitors to their stand, Chiefs are handing out various souvenirs to the delegates.
