Ajax Cape Town Vs Kaizer Chiefs
ABSA Premiership
Athlone Stadium
1st March 2008
Kick Off: 15h30
Playing Conditions: Partly cloudy, fresh westerly wind temperature at kick off 20.6°C
Chiefs go into the game having won just one of their last four league fixtures while Ajax are undefeated in the four matches they have played in 2008, The Amakhosi will be looking to bring that run to an end on Saturday. Muhsin Ertugral will also not have his assistant Fani Madida alongside him in Athlone when he comes up against his former team, as Madida is away attending the funeral of a relative. In total Muhsin Ertugral has made five changes from the loss to SuperSport, one of them through injury while the others are tactical.
Tsotetsi back in
After missing the match against SuperSport United through suspension Moketi Tsotetsi makes his way back into the starting eleven in place of Jonathan Quartey, who misses out on facing the league leaders as he has a lung infection. Apart from the inclusion of Tsotetsi Chiefs are unchanged at the back with Jimmy Tau and Onismor Bhasera occupying the right and left back spots respectively, while Fabian McCarthy continues to fill in for the as yet not fully recovered Derrick Spencer in the centre of defence.
Business as usual
Muhsin Ertugral experimented a week ago and pushed Ditheko Mototo in on the left side of midfield, for the Ajax match the Chiefs coach has opted to start with regular left winger Siphiwe Tshabalala instead. Sandile Zuke has been given a role behind the front men and comes in ahead of David Obua, while Mabhudi Khenyeza who came on as a substitute against SuperSport will partner Shaun Bartlett in attack instead of Kaizer Motaung Junior who finds himself amongst the substitutes on Saturday.
