Kaizer Chiefs preparations for the last part of the season got into second gear on Sunday when the first team left for a 10 day camp in Potchefstroom.
The Glamour Boys reported back at the Village after the festive break on Monday, 7 January and worked under the watchful eye of Fitness and Conditioning Coach, Joshua Smith.
The team started training with the full Technical Team led by Stuart Baxter on Monday, 14 January 2013.
“It’s been good to be back and we are all looking forward to the second round of the season. The players and everyone are excited to be back despite having seven players away with the national team."
“This week we worked with 17 players in the absence of the seven players in the national team. We are also waiting for Morgan Gould to join us in full training during the camp."
Baxter who was the first Coach to win Coach of the Quarter this season said that he was going to use the camp to work on different aspects of the game with his players; “We are going to work a lot on some attacking aspects of our game such as transitions."
“I would have loved to get the messages across even to the players in the national team but this is a situation that we cannot change and we have to work with what we have."
Baxter also hinted speaking to kaizerchiefs.com that the Club is unlikely to make any major signings during the January transfer window; “We are satisfied with the composition of the squad. We will not be making any major signings or we will not be letting go of any players."
“We might release one player on loan to get game time but we do not want to make many changes and destabilise the team. We have been monitoring the progress of some of our players in the development and we might have a few joining us during the camp,” added Baxter.
