Kaizer Chiefs is set to open their 2020 calendar with a trip to Mpumalanga where they are scheduled to come face to face with their nemesis SuperSport United.

The ever-anticipated Absa Premiership match is billed for Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium on Saturday 4th January, kicking off at 18:00.

In the first leg played at FNB Stadium, in August 2019, thorn in the flash, Bradley Grobbelaar equalised in the 83rd minute after goal poacher Samir Nurković had scored for Amakhosi in the 14th minute. Chiefs looked destined for the win until United turned the table at the death. 1-1 it ended after Grobbelaar missed a penalty with the last kick before the referee blew the final whistle much to the relief of Chiefs faithful.

It was Nurković‘s first goal in the Gold & Black colours and now the marksman is among the leading goal scorers with 8 goals after 14 Absa Premiership matches played. A good return for the Serbian in his new season for Amakhosi.

Eleven points separate the two teams on the log table. Chiefs ride the crest of the wave with 35 points after 14 games. United are chasing hard on 24 points after playing 15 games. It’s game on!

Tickets are sold via Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers outlets nationwide. Cost or tickets is R50 for adults and R20 for children.
